Forensic Gang Expert | Paralegal | Advocate for Justice

Founder of California Gang Experts & Advocates (CAL-GEA)

A Story of Experience, Expertise & Advocacy

I am a court-certified forensic gang expert and trained paralegal specializing in criminal law, constitutional rights, and civil liberties. My professional foundation is uniquely rooted in lived experience and legal education—earned while serving a life sentence in California’s prison system.

At just 14 years old, I was charged as an adult and sentenced to life. Over the next 16 years in maximum-security prison, I immersed myself in legal study, ultimately finding a path to freedom by successfully challenging my own case in court. This journey gave me not only legal knowledge, but a deep understanding of the structural and personal factors that drive young people into gang involvement.

Today, I provide expert insight into the culture, operations, and transformation of criminal street and prison gangs. My consulting services help courts, attorneys, and advocates understand the nuance of gang allegations, enhancements, and the lived reality behind the labels.

Education & Certification

  • Independent Forensic Gang Expert College - Loyola Law School / Loyola Marymount University

    • Specialized training in gang law, judicial processes, expert testimony, and current legal standards

  • Completion of multiple programs on:

    • Street and prison gang dynamics

    • Cognitive and behavioral transformation

    • Emotional intelligence and its link to criminality

    • Rehabilitation and restorative justice frameworks

Why My Expertise Matters

As a former gang member and incarcerated youth, I offer more than theoretical knowledge—I offer perspective. My ability to decode gang behavior, explain social drivers of gang recruitment, and challenge misinterpretations of evidence makes me an invaluable resource to defense teams and courts alike.

I’ve authored expert declarations, rebutted gang enhancements, and provided testimony in high-level felony cases, including homicide matters. I bring cultural fluency, legal clarity, and ethical grounding to every case I touch.

Advocacy in Action

Beyond the courtroom, I mentor incarcerated youth, consult on rehabilitation programming, and advocate for systemic reform in how gang-related cases are prosecuted and understood. My mission is to ensure that legal analysis is rooted in truth—not stereotypes.
